    Installation of “Jeli” Synthetic Resin Roof Tile

     

    ● Roof Tile Installation Preparation

    Roof tile Installation tools mainly include engineering cable, electric hand drill, drill sleeve, portable cutting machine, tape, steel ruler, wrench, portable polishing machine.
    Installation auxiliary material: 531 architectural polyurethane sealant is recommended.
    Roof requirement: “Jieli” synthetic resin tile is suitable for the roof with 20-80 degree of gradient.
    The top purlin is 180mm to the ridge line.
    The bottom purlin is 50-70mm to eaves.

    For the Royal Roof Tile  A tiles, the interval of purlins is no more than 660mm.
    For the Royal Roof Tile  B , the interval of the purlins is no more than 750mm.

     


    The installation procedure of “Jieli” synthetic resin tile:

    Roof Truss→ Setting out →Instill Purlins → Handle Tilted Gutters→Install Roofing Tiles of Main Slope  →Install Roofing Tiles of Secondary Slope →Install Eaves→Instill Main Ridge Tiles  → Instill Tilted Ridge Tiles → Install Ridge Tile Ends →Instill T-junction Tiles →Deal with Roof Protrusions  → Seal Joints or Seams with a Sealant.


  • Setting out

    The setting out should be carried out ahead to ensure installation quality and aesthetic appearance. Taking the roof with four gradients as example:
    Ridge Line → Horizontal Eave Line → Vertical Tile Line → Inclined Line of Triangular Facet → Middle Line of Triangular Facet


    Treatment of Tilted Gutters

    The tilted gutter can adopt color steel plate with the width of 1,000mm and thickness of 0.5mm or synthetic resin plate with the width of 800mm and thickness of 3mm.
    Produced according to the site condition The tilted gutter plates should be fixed on purlins before the mains tiles being installed and the width of projecting part is 200-300mm.


    Installation of Main Tiles

    The installation of main tiles should be started from one end of the house.
    The wave crest of one side of the main tiles is coincided with the vertical tile line.
    The upper and lower part should be parallel with the horizontal eave line.
    The installation of the first tile is most important; it has to be ensured that the tile hemline is perpendicular with the tile line; then, fix the tiles between the lower purlin and the central crest of tiles. The transversal main tiles should be arranged with one tile on the other (namely the second tile covers on the first and third, the fourth on the third and fifth) to avoid the out-of-flatness caused by unidirectional overlapping. In the course of installation, please make sure that the tile hemline is perpendicular with the tile line and then mount all built-in fitments

     

    For the vertical installation, a pitch length of tiles should be lapped and the two sides of the roof covered at the same time to ensure that the main ridge tiles are coincides with the main tile lines of the two sides.
    Tap bolts with the diameter of 6.3mm and length of 75mm should be adopted. And the tap bolts with diameter of 6.3mm and length of 110-150mm should be used according to the installation position in the course of main and tilted ridge installation.


    For the fixing, the waterproof ring should be firstly put within the groove under the protection mat, whose cambered surface is downward. The tap bolt is drilled through the center of the protection mat with moderately tightness by electric drill which is perpendicular to the tile; then the tarpaulin is installed. The main tiles should be furnished with a set of accessories at every other wave crest to guarantee the stability.


    Hipped Roof

    The triangular roof is installed after the installation of the main tiles. Take the center line of the triangular roof as benchmark to evenly install the two sides; and then obliquely incise along the triangular facet to facilitate the installation of the tilted ridge tiles.


    Installation of Eaves

    The eaves and the lowest main tile should be installed at the same time and fixed on the bottom purlin with tap screws.


    Installation of Main Ridge Tiles

    The main ridge tiles are installed on the ridge line starting from one side of the main tiles area. The lap joint of the first main ridge tile should not be coincided with that of the main tile and a wave crest should be lapped between two main ridge tiles.


    Installation of Tilted Ridge Tiles

    The tilted ridge tiles are installed on the slant edge of the triangles of multi-slop roof and should be aligned vertically and fixed on the main tile purlin. The overlapping length of to tilted ridge tiles is 30mm and the end of the tile should be installed in the end.


    Installation of T-junction Tiles

    The T-junction tiles are installed after the main and tilted ridge ones and locked on the main ridge tiles at the horizon ends and on the tilted ridge tiles at the inclined planes.


    Installation of Overhang Eaves

    The eaves should be installed at cornice part to ensure the draining performance of eave and protect the eave wall. Metal plate or synthetic resin plate is used to cover the cornice by going inward 100mm and warping downward and the overhang eaves should be fixed on the cornice and purlin before the installation of the main tiles.


    Periphery Drainage Disposal of Dormer Window

    The dormer window plays an important role of inspection path and ventilation window in the project of Flat-Roof-to-Slope-Roof as well as an important roofing decoration. The periphery drainage of dormer window is very important. The common structures of dormer window are vertical type and horizontal type. For the roof covered with synthetic resin tile, the vertical structure is suitable.


    The tilted gutter between the main roofing and dormer window roofing should be equipped with drain tank which is processed on site, adopts stainless steel with the thickness of 0.5 mm as raw material, and should be fixed on the purlins of the two slopes before the installation of main tiles.


    The intersection place of the drain tank and dormer window should be treated on the spot to make the end of drain tank tower above the roofing tile and cover the sidewall sheet flashing, so that the tilted gutter is able to drain water off through the sheet flashing or the roofing tile. The main tiles at the two sides of the tilted gutter should be stalled in accordance with the shape of drain tank.


    The gap between the main tile and the drain tank should be sealed with 531 polyurethane sealant and the irregular places be trimmed. The spray painting should be conducted at last.


    The water tightness of the intersection place between the upright wall of the dormer window and the roof can adopt our company’s synthetic resin upright wall sheet flashing, fixing the upper end on the upright wall, and the lower end on the main tile and sealing the gaps.

     

    The water tightness of the intersection place between the side wall of the dormer window and the roofing tiles can adopt our company’s synthetic resin L sheet flashing, fixing the upper end on the side wall, and lower end on the wave crest of main tiles, and sealing the gaps.


    Flashing Treatment of Gables and Eaves

     

    For the flashing of the gables and eaves, metal plate or synthetic resin plates are processed on site and nailed one end on the wall by drive pin and the other end on the purlin at the lower part of main tiles.


    Periphery Flashing Treatment of Water Tank and Chimney
    For the uphill flashing of roof tiles, water tank and chimney, metal or synthetic resin plate can be processed on site and fixed between the waist line of the building and the purlin under the roof tile.
    For the downhill flashing of roof tiles, water tank and chimney, metal or synthetic resin plates are processed on site and fixed between the waist line of the building and the roof tile.

     

    For the sided flashing of roof tiles, water tank and chimney, metal or synthetic resin plates are processed on site and fixed between the waist line of the building and the roof tile.


    Flashing Treatment of Skylight

    Fixed the metal or synthetic resin plates at the two sides and the uphill of the skylight on the roof before installing roofing tiles and cover the metal or synthetic resin drain bar on the tile when the downhill tiles of the skylight is installed.


    Solar Installation

     

    The solar installation in the project of Flat-Roof –to-Slope-Roof is in line with the design of project item.

     

    The common installing methods include: preserving platform and mounting frame and the frame protruding the roof should be treated with waterproofing work at the base part.


    Installation of Lightning Belt

    The lightning belt should be designed and installed in accordance with engineering project and connected firmly with the grounding of the building. The part protruding the roof should be treated with waterproofing work.


    Cleaning and Sealing

    Completely check and clean the tiles and roof when the tile installation is finished; seal the seams places like tilted gutter and sheet flashing and holes by 531 polyurethane sealant; and spay-paint the places with diversified colors.
